B.C. Wildlife Park issues caution to veterinarians
Kamloops veterinarians have been asked to caution their farmer customers after a drug used to euthanize animals was found to be what killed at least one eagle and made three others seriously ill this spring.
Tara Geiger, animal-care supervisor at the B.C. Wildlife Park, said Friday toxicology tests have shown the bald eagles ingested some kind of dead animal carcass that included pentabarbitol, a euthanasia drug.
?All three birds survived and were released.
